Immediate job opportunity for armed Multiple Site Security Officer​. The Multiple Site Officer will conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior). 

This position will also control access and egress of the facility, monitor CCTV and alarm systems, compose reports, deter criminal activity and misconduct, and perform other duties as specified in post orders. 

This role is an on-call role designed to provide the new employee with the experience and training necessary for a full-time schedule. The Multiple Site Officer is expected to work 32 to 40 hours per week. Assignments are expected to last 3-4 weeks prior to permanent full-time schedule assignment.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
 

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass any armed State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Must possess a current and valid Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) .40 Firearms Permit issued by the State of California
  • Must possess a current and valid Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Security Officer License issued by the State of California


Type and Length of Specific Experience Required:

  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • A minimum of two (2) years of service in the United States Armed Services (including Reserves or National Guard)
    • A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a physical security guard with an Associate's degree in a Security of Law Enforcement field
    • A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a physical security guard with the successful completion of a police officer's basic training academy

Other:

  • Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules
  • Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
  • Must possess a demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Must be familiar with computers and keyboard operations
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated if prior military


Physical Requirements and Environment:

Environment:  Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity:  Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Standing, walking, and sitting.  Minimal to no stooping or kneeling


ROLE RESPONSIBILITY:
 

Specific Duties and Essential Functions:

  • Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
  • Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
  • Emergency response; sound alarms, call the police department in presence of unauthorized persons or call fire department in case of fire
  • Warn violators of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
  • Permit authorized persons to enter the property; monitor entrances and exits
  • Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property, and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
  • Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs
  • Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
