Job Description
CASEVAC Medic and Lead Medic specializing in Point of Injury or Point of Extraction EVAC suitable for Fixed Wing or Rotor Wing airlift support in Yemen.
Position Location - Deploying to Yemen
** This is a notional position pending contract award***
Duties:
The primary responsibilities of the CASEVAC Medic include the following:
Perform Supervisory duties to include scheduling, reporting, attending meetings and coordinating with the Caliburn Operational Support Team.
Coordinate Manage and Schedule air-medical evacuation team.
Perform as the Lead of the Flight Team, maintain positive professional relationships with colleges, flight crew and on ground personnel.
Paramedics shall be available 24 hours a day seven (7) days a week on a standby status and be flight ready within two (2) hours of notification and may be put on a heightened response posture to be airborne within thirty (30) minutes of notification.
Perform special operations medical support providing initial combat trauma stabilization, enroute trauma care, and CASEVAC to definitive care.
Applies scientific knowledge to human treatment responses to actual or potential health problems.
Documents and maintains patient records of medical treatment administered.
Coordinates with operational mission planners for the safe evacuation of the patients from the originating mission to the destination facility.
Plans and prepares for CASEVAC missions.
Ability to provide medical treatment in accordance with established protocols under the supervision of a physician.
Responsible for performing a variety of unusual and complex professional tasks without the benefit of close guidance.
Independently establishes criteria, formulates approaches, and evaluates efforts.
Proper judgment is required to prevent delays in service provision, avoid serious adverse impact on the health status of individuals and the population served, and reduce waste efforts and resources.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Must have successfully completed a formal Paramedic Training program resulting in a degree or certification.
Experience as a SOF Medic.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Paramedic For Medic Lead and Minimum of 4 years for Medic (State Paramedic License or National Registry Paramedic) with Leadership skills.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) or Advance Tactical Paramedic or Trauma Combat Casualty Care.
Strong organizational, analytical and written/verbal communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills to research and resolve inquiries and respond in a timely manner
Ability to work well with senior management and across functions to achieve business objectives
Self-starter who is action oriented and possesses a strong sense of urgency
Proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Other Requirements:
Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver’s License.
Must have a current U.S. Passport.
You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Must sign a Foreign Service Agreement (FSA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the FSA.
May be required to attend specialized training.
Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write and communicate in English.
Shall demonstrate proficiency in the use of basic word processing programs and the Medical Management Systems software and electronic records.
Physical Requirements:
Must be confirmed by a medical examination to be “medically and dentally fit” in accordance Medical Readiness Guidelines and Policies and/or as dictated by the Client
No conditions that would prevent the wear of personal protective equipment; including protective mask, ballistic helmet, body armor and chemical/biological protective garments or conditions that would prevent the capability of donning, lifting or carrying of up to 70 lbs. of referenced gear while running to a bunker or protected area in the face of perceived or imminent danger.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment; travel in Yemen is required by surface or air.
The climate in Yemen is subtropical-dry with low annual rainfall.
Capable of responding to a wide variety of operational circumstances, under extreme weather conditions, within a hostile environment
May be exposed to extreme noise from aircraft, hostile fire, and other acts of aggression associated with this region
May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and work in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, aircraft, and vehicles
Required to kneel, bend, sit and lift heavy objects for extended periods of time

Will be required to work and live in a potentially hostile environment, at remote locations, and under austere conditions
Must attend and successfully complete weapons qualification, security training, psychological assessment and High Threat - Counter-terrorism training prior to deployment
