Position: Intelligence Analyst
Nationality: Australian
Security Clearance: NV2
Role
The Intelligence Analyst (IA) is responsible for the gathering of intelligence including:
1. advising on security threat and risk issues
2. assisting the SM and Mobile Security Teams in pre-mission planning
3. liaising with other security/intelligence agencies in order to provide
accurate and timely intelligence
4. collecting intelligence in conjunction with the SAT
5. hosting and/or attending weekly intelligence sharing meetings on behalf
of the Australian Embassy Security Advisor (SA)
6. conducting intelligence debrief of all personnel after operational tasking
7. managing and updating venue database
8. providing a security briefing for the A-based weekly meeting and
9. produce a security risk assessment for all moves and visits to
Australian Embassy.
Skills and Experience
The IA must have:
a) at least two(2) years experience operating in high risk environments
b) previous military or law enforcement experience of five (5) years, with
an excellent record of conduct. Must not have a criminal record and
must not have been dishonourably discharged from service or
convicted under the Defence Force Disciplinary Act (1982) (or
equivalent) or terminated from employment
c) completed Defence Intelligence Research (and) Analysis Course or
equivalent
d) excellent leadership skills
e) experience with risk management including risk management planning
and qualitative risk analysis and
f) excellent communication skills, with experience in multiple levels of
communication between various levels of management, internal and
external.
Desirable
a) previous experience working in a diplomatic environment
b) previous in-country experience in a similar capacity
c) a working knowledge of the local language and
d) security and analysis qualifications.
